What the Power BI plugin does

The Power BI plugin for viewneo is a live data integration that puts your Microsoft Power BI reports and dashboards directly onto your digital signage screens. Sales figures, production metrics, financial KPIs, and operational data update in real time — turning static office screens into live data displays that keep teams informed without requiring anyone to open a browser or pull a report manually. Whatever is visible in Power BI can be on a screen.

How it works

  1. Connect your Power BI workspace — Authenticate via the Power BI Embed API in the viewneo plugin settings using your Microsoft account credentials.
  2. Select reports and dashboards — Choose which Power BI reports, pages, or individual tiles to display. You can show different reports on different screens.
  3. Assign to screens and go live — viewneo embeds the selected Power BI content on your chosen displays and keeps it synchronised automatically.

$3.60 per player and month or $36.00 per player and year — depending on whether your subscription is billed monthly or yearly. The plugin can be booked from viewneo Professional, is enabled free of charge during the 30-day trial and can be re-assigned to another player at any time. All prices are on the pricing page.
Do I need an existing Power BI account?
Yes. You need an active Microsoft Power BI account with the reports or dashboards you want to display already set up. A Power BI Pro or Premium licence is typically required for API-based embedding.
How is data shared between Power BI and viewneo?
Dashboards are embedded via the Microsoft Power BI REST API and Embed API under a data-processing agreement. In most deployments the lawful basis is contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR); as the controller for your data you decide this for your own case. Microsoft 365 data processing for EU customers is covered by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
